The Ronnie Milsap Show - Podcast #4

Welcome to the 4th installment of the Ronnie Milsap Show on RonnieMilsap.com.

The theme of this show should be "Diversity," because of all of the different types of music that I've been involved in.

During this show I'll give you some background on more of my songs, "Earthquake," "No One Will Every Know," "Smokey Mountain Rain," "Ain't No Soul Left In These Old Shoes," "Am I Losing You," "Misery Loves Company," "Keep The Night Away," "World Of Wonder" and "But I Do."

Again, I want to thank you all for all of your great feedback on these shows. Keep it coming. That's how I put together the next shows.

Once again, "Great job". I love listening to all those great songs that were on those late 70's , early 80's RCA albums. I'd like to hear some stuff from the "Night Things" album. I also wouldn't mind hearing "She thinks I still care" from the "Milsap Magic" album. I've got all that old vinyl too, but I'me not gonna burn mine to keep warm, dont' care how cold it gets!!! Keep it coming.

Loved Podacst #4! Regarding "Smokey Mtn Rain" - I've always thought that song had a kinda California / Beach music sound toward the end - when you go high in the background. In fact, there are other songs that have that slight CA kinda sound! Hard to explain but I know it when i hear it. I LOVE the "Magic" my friend! No one can ever duplicate the incredible style in your music. Keep going with the podcasts! I look forward to seeing you soon. David Underwood - Atlanta

Hi ronnie. Thank you so much for doing the podcasts. Thank you for doing so many of my favorite songs. Interestingly enough, I listened to misery loves company on the milsap Magic album yesterday. I met you in 1993 at the fredericksburg, Virginia Fair grounds. Out where the bright lights are glowing was my first Milsap album back in 1983. thank you for making the podcasts available for download. I am able to play them any time on my Victor Reader stream. Take care and God bless.

I'm so glad you did something from Just For A Thrill, and if you get the urge, do more! I think people would enjoy hearing about the recording process of that one with the orchestra. It was different than the way a lot of recording is done now. I'm partial to My Funny Valentine, maybe because of that nice flute solo. (grin) The only thing I've done longer than I've played the flute is listen to your music. Please keep the podcasts coming. We love them!

Loved Podcast #4 also! All of us fans that have been listening to you for 30 plus years, as a lot of us have, and those that have only found your music within the past five years or so love any information we can get about you and your life and your songs. Please keep up the Podcasts because these give us more insight to the different recordings we all have but did not know the story behind them. Looking forward to seeing you at Billy Bob's this Saturday nite and God Bless you and keep you safe.
    Love you, Ronnie

Ronnie - meant to say that probably my most favorite song is "Future's Not What It Used To Be" written by Mickey Newberry. If you can, sometimes please tell me anything about this song and how you came to record it. It should have been one of your number 1's also, I think.
    Love you and your music,

    Hi, Ronnie!

I just wanted to say what a fan I've been of yours for a long time and how much I enjoy your podcasts! I have all of your RCA albums from "Where My Heart Is" to the "Greatest Hits, Vol. 3" package. I guess my favorite would have to be the "Keyed Up" album. It contains several of my personal favorites, including "We're Here to Love" with Dan Seals on backing vocals. It was such sad news to hear of his death earlier this year. Perhaps you could include that track as a tribute to Dan on one of your future podcasts. Anyway, I want to thank you again for your great contributions to the music world over the years.

    Thanks and God bless!

    Hi Ronnie,

I love these Podcasts! Hope you will continue putting them together. Love you sharing the informative information about each song. Thank you for making the Podcasts available for download. Love your DVD years back; wish you would make another one! I never tire watching it. My husband and I purchased it at one of your live shows. You took the time to sign Autographs after the show; that meant a lot to me. I so much enjoyed having the opportunity to briefly talk to you. Wish you a lot of success with this wonderful Gospel "Then Sings My Soul" CD. I purchased it immediately and love it. It makes a nice Christian gift too! The last live show we went to was at Thackerville, Oklahoma, June 2009. You have a remarkable personality. Hope you and Joyce have many more happy years of married life together! God bless both of you and your family.

Your music thrills me beyond words. I just listened to "My First Ride." I loved it , too, and am going to get it. Keep your music, podcasts, and concerts coming. Love and happiness. Donna Conkle
