The Ronnie Milsap Show - Podcast #5

Welcome to the Ronnie Milsap Show - Podcast #5 on RonnieMilsap.com.

Ronnie's in the Dog House podcasting for you. Did you know that Ronnie once had a mohawk? How many of you remember the song Barry Manilow and Ronnie Milsap did together?

During this podcast Ronnie plays "Back On My Mind Again," "Nobody Likes Sad Songs," "In No Time At All," "Get It Up," "If You Don't Want Me To (The Freeze)," "There's No Getting Over Me," "Put A Quarter In The Juke Box," "I Wouldn't Have Missed It For The World," "I'll Fly Away" and "I Don't Want Nobody To Have My Love But You."

Again, I want to thank you all for all of your great feedback on these shows. Be sure to send me your requests and I'll do what I can to get that in.

Once again an extremely enjoyable time listening to the #5 podcast. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. The history and knowing who wrote and who is playing with you on our favorite songs is really fun.
Took your gospel CD to my mom, who is 88, the other night. She hasn't stopped playing it since.
Please keep the pods coming. They are wonderful.

p.s. how many songs do you have stored in your brain and heart? Must be thousands. What a mind!!

    God Bless. Linda

Ronnie, Oh the memories you have brought today.. great memories and tears. 1978, and the little 45 record I found in a neighbors yard.. took it home and played it over, over, over and over! "In no time at all" (A side) and "Get it up" (B side) oh my gosh I was only 9 years old and that was just the beginning of my collection of ALL Ronnie Milsap Albums and many of your concerts with my hero,.. my father to take me to.

Thank you for all the years of joy you have brought in my life.
"What a differance you've made in my life"!!

    PLEASE KEEP THE PODCASTS COMING.

    Ronnie -

Podcast 5 was clearly a winner. Please tell me about the "Vocoder". You mentioned it a couple of times. How does it influence the sound of the recording? The album "Only One Love.." was one of the best ever. "Magic" was outstanding.. waiting on CD :). Thanks for doing the podcast. It's the closest I can get to asking you about the songs and recording experience. I know, I'm just a "groupie". But I love hearing about it. Keep it going. love ya my friend.. David Underwood.. Ronnie -
Podcast number 5 is my favorite so far. For the first time after all these years, I know what you said at the end of "Get it Up".. I could never quite make it out.. sounded like.. "..but if i did that, corn wouldn't make a pig.." LOL! Thanks for setting it straight. Also, what is a "VOCODER"? I looked it up but I'd like to understand how the sound would be different if it wasn't used. I MISS the sound that "radio" said to change.. the true "magic". Thanks, friend. Keep the p-cast coming. And hey, maybe another project with the old sound. I love it and so does a lot of peeps. I appreciate you sir.

Hi Ronnie! Podcast number five rocked! I think it was my favorite one yet. Maybe because you put Get It Up on this one and it sounded like you were having a dog house party in there! If you ever get a picture of yourself with the mohawk you have to post it for us to see! I remember the song with Barry Manilow. I had it on an old cassette tape when I was a kid, don't remember where I'd recorded it from. Then I found it on a Barry M. LP and bought it from Ebay. It was warped so some songs didn't sound right, but thankfully that one did. These podcasts are SO much fun! Bob and I look forward to seeing you and the gang in a few weeks in Franklin, NC. Take care, look forward to the next podcast!

Ronnie, I thouroughly enjoy your podcasts!!! The history behind songs is very interesting. Thanks for giving South Louisiana a shoutout!!! I play in a group based out of the New Orleans area. We play from Biloxi, MS to Beaumont, TX, and not a night goes by that we don't play "If you don't want me To" (the freeze). It's REGULAR part of our song rotation.

I have the utmost admiration and respect for you as a person, and an artist!!! YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

    God bless, and take care....

I Wouldn't Have Missed It For The World was the song my boyfriend wrote all the words to after we broke up...and got back together...and broke up... I can't believe how many of these songs have been the Soundtrack to my life. I've now been happily married for 23 years (not to the one that was on and off again)and Ronnie is still the Soundtrack to my life and my heart. Have only seen one concert. It was an outdoor concert in Nebraska during a terrible rainstorm (who knew Nebraska had monsoons!) but it was worth it, oh was it worth it. You were remarkable, and so kind to my son who has developmental disabilities. If you hadn't won my heart before, you did that night...but then...you already had

Ronnie, your concert I saw at Sault St. Marie was fabulous. I really enjoyed Podcast #5. I especially liked the variety of music you played.I'd love to hear more of your duets, especially "Tonight I Celebrate My Love" that you did with Gladys Knight. Your versatility and talent never cease to amaze me! In fact, I'd love it if you compiled some of your duets and did a new CD of just duets.

    God bless you.

Saw your 7 PM concert in Renfro, KY on September 19th. What a great evening. Kudos to your producer - well orchestrated and enjoyable show.

And the podcasts are really a pleasure to listen to. Like so many others have commented, your music has been a part of my and my husband's life for many years.

Best wishes to you, your family and your musical family.
